Medical Acupuncture is being covered by more and more insurance companies. In Baton
Rouge, the Louisiana Office of State Group Benefits, BCBS OGB HMO, LSU/CIGNA, Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO will
cover acupuncture treatment visits. It is important for you to request this unique form of preventative and therapeutic
treatment from your insurers! In some cases, insurance companies may require pre-authorization for treatment. It is the responsibility
of the patient to check their coverage and obtain pre-authorization if it is necessary. Note that OGB patients
with UHC will no longer be covered as of 7/01/2010.
I offer a cash discount of $250 for the first consultation
and $200 for subsequent treatments if insurance is not utilized. I offer a student and senior discount of $200 for the initial
consultation and $150 for susequent treatments. Sessions are for one hour. Compare this to $65-85 for a one hour massage!
